In early January 2009 two White House-bound economists — Christina Romer and Jared Bernstein — predicted that if the stimulus bill were passed, unemployment would peak at 8% by midyear and then start coming down.
Finally, at long last, the President is focusing on what should have been his number one priority all along: the economy, or more specifically, getting people back to work.
A famous community organizer once said, "The only way to upset the power structure in your communities is to goad them, confuse them, irritate them and, most of all, make them live by their own rules. If you make them live by their own rules, you destroy them."
Given the partisan anger prompted by the town hall meetings, it's not surprising to see a similar divide in the survey.
At the age of 29, I attended my first political protest. I didn't know what to expect, I wasn't sure if I'd fit in; I only knew that I'd been waiting for something like this since about 1998. A little over ten years ago, I started becoming disenchanted with the Republican party.

At least 10 states are considering some kind of major increase in sales or income taxes: Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin.
I wish that I had written something this good. A cautionary tale indeed.

Public schools are government-run schools. That should give good liberals the chills--after all, having the government decide what kids are taught in school is an invitation to indoctrination.
